EMERGENCY INFECTIOUS DISEASE (EID) HOSPITAL FOR SEPLAT ENERGY PLC. (ONGOING PROJECT)

The EID Hospital is located on the campus of Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH), in Orlu LGA. The facility is intended to serve the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria with a capacity of 150 beds.

The initiative is part of a broader corporate and government effort (NNPC in partnership with private IOCs inclusive of SEPLAT) who pledged to construct multiple infectious-disease centers across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones to bolster pandemic and infectious-disease response.

The hospital boasts amenities such as:
 Male and female wards
 4 consulting rooms
 Conference room
 Admin offices
 Pharmacy
 An operating theatre
 Laboratory
 X-ray room
 Ultrasound room
 A 750 KVA transformer

 Generators (350 KVA and 150 KVA)
 Laundry room
 Panel room
 Water treatment plant (WTP)
 Gate house, amongst others

When completed the hospital would serve as a major boost to the health-care capacity in Imo State, particularly for infectious diseases and emergencies, offering more resilience in the face of pandemics or outbreaks.
