RE: DUCHESS MEDICAL FACILITY
Our attention has been drawn to certain unsavoury statement contained in the recent publication on our website regarding Business Contracting Limited (BCL) and the construction of the Duchess International Hospital located at Ikeja, Lagos State.
In the publication, we stated as follows - “Horatio Limited, the 2nd bidder who lost with some margin in the tender stage was however called upon to carry on the work after the 1st bidder BCL Construction and Civil Engineering Limited abandoned the project at the Carcass stage”.
Following the receipt of an objection by BCL regarding the statement, we have had cause to reappraise the statement and while it was factual that BCL was indeed originally contracted for the project before it was re-awarded to Horatio, we have however discovered that the representation made to Horatio at the time of re-awarding the contract was erroneously misconstrued as BCL has now notified us that it did not abandon the project as erroneously stated.
Our intention was not to discredit BCL in any manner whatsoever and on this basis; the erroneous publication has been withdrawn.
We regret any embarrassment or inconvenience the publication may have caused BCL.
